KKDW’s three TVET initiatives aim to expand career opportunities for rural children

BIG RIVER, – Career opportunities for graduates of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), especially among rural children, will be strengthened through three strategic initiatives of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).

The initiative is expected to be able to connect skills training with industry needs as well as local enterprise development.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, the approach includes the TVET KKDW Premium Career Agreement, TVET Jana Desa and Smart and Green Workshop TVET@KKDW, which will be implemented in stages.

“Cooperation between training institutions and employers needs to start before trainees join the program to ensure that the skills developed really meet the needs of the job market.

“Through the TVET KKDW Premium Career Agreement, competencies, placement conditions and salary packages for selected programs will be agreed with the employer prior to the recruitment of trainees, in addition to involving the industry in curriculum development and evaluation.
