PUTRAJAYA, – The government is examining the proposed allocation of RM280.03 million for the Replanting Program for Small Oil Palm Growers (TSPKS) 2.0 as one of the measures to strengthen the country’s agricommodity sector.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the proposal was one of several initiatives being studied for consideration in the 2027 Budget, particularly to increase the productivity and income of smallholders.
“These farmers, even though we sometimes call them small farmers, when combined, their contribution is huge. We are responsible for finding ways to improve the quality of their production,” he said.
He said this in a speech at the Meeting with the Ministry’s Citizens in conjunction with the Monthly Meeting of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities here today.
Datuk Seri Anwar informed that in addition to TSPKS 2.0, RM17.05 million was also proposed for the Empowerment of Downstream Entrepreneurs in the Agricommodity Sector, RM28.57 million for the Disaster Fund and Disease Control in the Agricommodity Sector and RM100 million for the Private Smallholder Farm Road Program.
