KUALA LUMPUR, – The Federation of Malaysian Business Associations (FMBA) welcomes the efforts of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) to strengthen access to financing and targeted support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) facing operational challenges.
Its president, Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Malik Abdullah said, access to financing is very important when businesses face increasing operating costs, global uncertainty and pressure on profit margins.
According to him, KUSKOP is targeting funding of up to RM15 billion this year, with approximately RM9 billion having been approved and disbursed as of July 31, thus benefiting around 250,000 entrepreneurs nationwide.
“We appreciate the earnestness of YB Steven Sim and KUSKOP in ensuring that sufficient funding is available for Malaysian businesses.
“Access to financing remains one of the most important forms of support for SMEs, whether to face temporary difficulties or grow the business,” he said in a statement.
