KUSKOP, the agency approved more than RM25.27 billion in loans to entrepreneurs and cooperatives

KUALA LUMPUR, – The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) through its agencies has approved more than RM25.27 billion in financing to 847,653 entrepreneurs and cooperatives nationwide.

The financing was done from 2024 until May 31.

Its Deputy Minister, Datuk Mohamad Alamin said the financing helps small and medium enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs and cooperatives increase working capital, expand business capacity, improve premises and business equipment.

He said the effectiveness of financing schemes for entrepreneurs and cooperatives is assessed through the performance of repayment of financing by entrepreneurs.

“KUSKOP does not set an overall average Non Performing Financing (NPF) for all funding agencies. This NPF performance is measured and reported separately by each agency based on their respective funding. In general, there are agencies that set an average NPF target below 10 percent,” he said.

“As of May 2026, TEKUN Nasional recorded an average NPF rate of 9.69 percent, while SME Bank and Bank Rakyat recorded an average NPF rate of 10.49 and 1.93 percent respectively. The NPF rate for Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) was 0.01 percent,” he further explained.

For the period from January to May this year, 39 SMEs have been approved for financing amounting to RM18.5 million.
