KUALA LUMPUR, – A total of RM140 million in funding under Entrepreneur Capital and Indian Economic Stimulation (MUDRA) has been approved and distributed to nearly 6,000 Indian entrepreneurs as of August this year.
The Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development, Steven Sim, said the total MUDRA allocation of RM220 million was among the highest funding ever provided by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) to empower Indian entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
According to him, KUSKOP also pays attention to efforts to expand access to financing through the Indian Community Entrepreneur Financing Scheme (SPUMI) under the National TEKUN.
“For the Indian Community Entrepreneur Financing Scheme (SPUMI), the total amount of funding has been increased to RM120 million, which is the highest amount to date. To date, a total of RM64 million in funding has been approved for over 1,900 entrepreneurs.
“The initiative was implemented to ensure that more entrepreneurs in Malaysia have access to funding and government assistance.
