KUALA LUMPUR, – The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) through SME Corp Malaysia implemented various high-impact initiatives, including the Bumiputera Rapid Acceleration and Value Enhancement (BRAVE) program to strengthen the participation of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the growth and high-value sectors.
Deputy Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin said the BRAVE program was introduced with a one-off allocation of RM15 million to accelerate the growth of Bumiputera small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with high potential to be listed on Bursa Malaysia.
He said until last June, a total of 27 Bumiputera micro, small and medium enterprises (PMKS) participated in the program, and the government aims to have five to 10 companies listed by 2030.
According to him, KUSKOP also implemented the Strategic Industry Improvement Program and High Performance Companies (PRESTIGE) 2.0, the SME Scaling Catalyst Fund, the Sustainable SME Program and the SME Readiness Program for Listing on Bursa Malaysia.
“Until June this year, 12 Bumiputera SMEs have been approved for loans and grants worth RM4.9 million consisting of SMEs in high-impact industries such as electrical and electronics (E&E), biotechnology and medical devices,” he said during an oral question and answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
