KUALA LUMPUR, – A total of 2,193 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PMKS) entrepreneurs received ratings through the program SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE) operated by SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), as of last September.
Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP), Datuk Mohamad Alamin said that each entrepreneur registered under the program was given a rating of between one and five stars based on their level of ability and competitiveness.
The SCORE assessment covers several key aspects including business performance, financial position, human capital management, marketing and business operations.
“Entrepreneurs who are registered to follow the program under SCORE will have advantages including identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the business.
“The ratings they receive such as two stars, three stars, four or five stars can indirectly convince other business partners,” he said.
He said this when answering a question from Kuala Pilah Member of Parliament, Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan during the Dewan Rakyat session.
According to Datuk Mohamad, SME Corp will implement appropriate interventions to improve performance and business capabilities if any weaknesses are identified.
